I walk this life with every step as a new beginning or an enhancement of who I was yesterday. Although their are thousands who’ve left their footprints before me, I see them, I’ve learned from them but my footprints are not the same as there’s. Our journey through life is one that can only be expeienced wholly through the doors we wish to open, the people we come into contact with and the treasures that are left only for us to find.
It is a beautiful journey if we see the beauty. It can be a difficult journey if we see ourselves as weak. Conquering our everyday depends on our ability to maximise our time with purpose, passion and perseverence or declining the weight of the day and circumbing to laziness, an “I can’t do” attitude or seeing things as impossible.
What you think of yourself is what you envision for yourself – a good job, a loving family, a grateful heart or a broken home, a crappy job, a tired heart.
Beginning to see your worth and what you mean to yourself is what can turn your grey clouds to bright blue skies. Ponder on these words by Iyanla Vanzant for a moment:
Nothing destroys self-worth, self-acceptance and self-love faster than denying what you feel. Without feelings you would not know where you are in life. Nor would you know what areas you need to work on. HONOR YOUR FEELINGS. Allow yourself to feel them.
Everything that happens to you is a reflection of what you believe about yourself. We cannot outperform our level of self-esteem. We cannot draw to ourselves more than we think we are worth.
Perhaps if we begin to inculcate a positive mindset, we can begin to welcome fruitful encounters. For those stuck in a rut for a long time, it will seem difficult. Begin with yourself – pat yourself on the back, reward or acknowledge every bit of good that you achieved. When we start realising our own worth we begin to welcome a better way of treating ourselves and others. Only when we look within can we clear ourselves from the darkness that tells us we are weak and worthless. You are not weak! and You are not worthless!
Say the below outloud and begin to reflect to the world your worth.
To love by choice, not by chance.
To be motivated, not manipulated.
To be useful, not used.
To make changes, not excuses. To excel, not compete.
I Choose self-esteem, not self pity.
I Choose to listen to my inner voice, not to the random opinion of others
Its okay to feel, its okay to dream, its okay to be in touch with your emotions and more importantly listen to what your emotions are telling you. It’s in listening to every part of your being that you learn to love, care, protect and see your worth.
Find the YOU that makes you happy, content, fulfilled and confident. As humans we are constantly searching for peace of mind, purpose, comfort, love, strength….etc. It is our human need to fulfill a hole. We can only do that when we are comfortable with our own being and live to experience the best version of ourselves.
