5 Tips To Start Feeling Great

look good feel great

Eating habits which allow you to look good and feel great, is not such a difficult task.  On my wellness journey; I’ve had 2 personal trainers, 2 wellness coaches, attended the gym frequently, and then not so frequently. I also very much enjoy skipping and boxing.

While looking for the perfect health routine, I came across a solution that suited my lifestyle. Having lost 16kgs in 3months, I was in total awe of how easy it was. I immediately signed up to become a Wellness Coach which enabled me to reach out to as many people as I could –  Don’t worry I’m not about to sell you any products – I do offer consultations and only willing to take on serious clients who want to reach the best version of themselves 🙂

MY TOP 5 TIPS ON LOOKING GOOD & FEELING GREAT

TIP 1    GET MOTIVATED

Let’s face it, you aren’t going to do anything, go anywhere or fulfill any goals, unless you’re motivated to do so. Motivation plays a pivitol role in fueling the drive to achieve your goals. It gives you power when your body is weak. “Mind over Matter”

TIP 2   LIST YOUR WEAKNESSES, THEN LIST YOUR GOALS

Here are some questions to help you reach your goals:

These are examples of clients response from my previous coaching

Client 1 – I feel heavy, slow and drained. I eat because it comforts me, I particularly love chocolate and drink my tea/coffee with 3 sugars.  I would like to have more energy for myself and kids.  It would help if I had a bit of endurance to carry me through my work day.

Client 2 – I’ve gained so much weight. I don’t look great in my clothes. I don’t eat much but I love my gas drinks.  I probably drink 3ltrs of gas drinks a day. My goal is to feel fit and healthy and lose 10kgs.  Fitting in the clothes I used to wear or maybe even buy a few new items would be a dream. A flat flat tummy would be great too and I wouldn’t mind looking sexy in an evening dress…

TIP 3   DRINK WATER

Your body is 60% water and needs a lot of water. You lose 1.7ltrs of water a day through normal activity like eating, breathing, perspiring, going to the loo.  We should be drinking at least 2ltrs a day.  Dehydration can cause weight gain, fatigue, migraines, constipation… On the upside, keeping hydrated flushes out waste from the liver and kidneys, helps in blood circulation and aids in cellular regeneration.  All in all it helps your body function at optimal peak… SO START DRINKING THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WATER TODAY.

TIP 4    EAT WELL

80% of the way you look is down to nutrition the rest is excercise.  The right combination of protein and carbs is the key,  along with knowing which foods are high in sugar, even when they’re disguised as “good food”.  Understanding what your body is craving when you run to the sweet cupboard will definitely help you treat your body’s needs better. Depending on your goals – losing body fat, gaining muscle or maintaing your weight; how and what you eat is SUPER IMPORTANT.

TIP 5   A BIT OF EXCERCISE GOES A LONG WAY

Unless you’re an athlete, adrenalin junkie or muscle champion, there’s no need to go into super drive with your excercise routine. The best excercise is doing what you enjoy most.  For me that’s skipping, dancing and the treadmill.  If skipping is not your thing, don’t give up just because you didn’t like the first excercise you tried.  Try something different; like yoga, pilates or for those who crave a higher impact bootcamp, running, spinning, boxing. A simple walk for 5mins a day at speed is also enough as long as you are moving. Excercise wakes up and builds muscles, which inturn speeds up the metabolism and burns those calories faster.  There’s also different excercise methods to use for cardio and for muscle building ~ which we’ll leave for another post.

Here’s to a HAPPIER, HEALTHIER YOU XOXO
